Garuda to promote regional Indonesian tourism in new campaign
National flag carrier Garuda will promote tourism opportunities in the outer eastern islands of Indonesia.
The airline will market tourism in 44 destinations in 11 provinces in the four islands of Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua, and Kalimantan.
"These efforts are part of the Explore the Beauty of Indonesia (EBI) program, based on which we will help to promote tourism potential in Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua, and Kalimantan islands," said Rosyinah, vice president of Garuda eastern regions.
Manager of the EBI program I Wayan Supatrayasa said the carrier will highlight the growing tourism potential in the regions, while the respective local governments will make funds available to improve tourist facilities and infrastructure.
"We will create four- to five-minute video clips for each island and will play them onboard flights, or during promotional activities," Supatrayasa said.
