Get on track for hogmanay celebrations

Saturday, 15 Nov, 2006 0

Party goers wanting to enjoy the annual hogmanay celebrations in Edinburgh can travel by train from London on New Year’s Eve and be back in the capital for 0900 on New Year’s Day.

It is believed that this the first time a chartered train has been used to run from London to Edinburgh for this purpose.

The tour is organised by Albatross Promotions which has been running charter trains for several London football clubs to cup finals and play-off matches.

The train is planned to leave Kensington Olympia at midday on December 31 with an arrival in Edinburgh at 1730 just as the festivities are beginning.

After celebrating New Year in traditional Scottish style, the return leaves Edinburgh Waverley Station at 0600.

Ticket prices are £130 with an additional £60 to upgrade to first class, including a party bag and Edinburgh street party pass.
