The Noosa Biosphere Reserve, established in 2007 under the auspices of UNESCO, defines the former Noosa Shire. It does this not only geographically, but also by encapsulating the common values of sustainability and environmental awareness that are an essential aspect of Noosa’s history and current lifestyle.
