Globus brands to require vaccination proof or negative test
Customers travelling with Cosmos, Globus and Avalon Waterways must provide proof of a Covid vaccination, a negative test result or virus immunity documentation from April.
"The health and safety of our travellers is our No. 1 priority," Globus Chief Executive Scott Nisbet said.
"We have continued to enhance on-trip safety standards throughout the pandemic to ensure we’re ready to welcome guests back to travel when the world is ready. Today, we’re unveiling new pre-trip requirements."
The new measures include proof of a Covid-19 vaccination received at least 14 days before travel or a negative test taken within 72 hours.
Alternatively, customers must provide proof that they have recovered from Covid within three months of travel.
Globus stressed that without one of the verifications, travellers will not be able to travel.
The company said it will also facilitate, and cover the cost, of additional Covid testing, if required, for guests to return to their home country, as well as tests on trips if guests show symptoms.
More payment flexibility will also be introduced, Globus said, with final balances now due 45 days prior to departure.
"In a world of uncertainty, we want travellers to enjoy peace of mind that their vacation – and their finances – are in good hands," Nisbet said.
"As they get closer to their departure date, they can feel confident about – and excited for – their journey, knowing that final payment is not due until six weeks before they’re scheduled to go."
