Gogo, which terms itself the leading provider of in-flight WiFi in the US, is launching its holiday shopping season tomorrow with the opening of its first in-air, online holiday shopping store, the company announced.

It’s called “FlyBuy Wednesday.” It gives holiday travelers a chance to “fly above the crowds of the holiday shopping season,” the company says.

“Passengers traveling onboard the more than 1,200 Gogo-equipped aircraft this holiday season will have 30 minutes of free access to the Gogo Fly & Buy Holiday Store with special discounts and offers from more than a dozen top online retailers,” the company says.

Gogo’s in-air holiday store will be available from Wednesday through the New Year.

The Gogo Fly & Buy Holiday Store will feature special in-flight only holiday discounts and offers from retailers including Barnes & Noble, BestBuy.com, FTD.com, Harry & David, hayneedle.com, JCPenney, Lobster Gram, Macy’s, Omaha Steaks, Wine.com and more.

Using Gogo’s network and services, passengers with laptops and other Wi-Fi enabled devices can get online on all domestic AirTran Airways, Virgin America and Alaska Airlines flights, on all domestic mainline Delta flights and on select Air Canada, American Airlines, United Airlines, and US Airways flights.

“Every 18 seconds, a Gogo-equipped flight takes to the skies,” the company says.
