Going for Gold – in travel software!
Overshadowed by success in Beijing, no doubt, but August 2008 saw another major gold awarded when Web Applications Ltd achieved Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status, no small achievement for a software development company that only employed five people three years ago, but now employs over thirty.
Achieving Gold status has meant meeting three stringent requirements. Customer references are taken up to ensure the company is delivering an excellent service to clients which range from one-man-bands to FTSE 250 companies. Staff are trained and qualified to deliver consistently good service, and our new Babel product has been tested and achieved four Microsoft approved certifications. Testing was conducted independently by VeriTest, a testing service of Lionbridge Technologies.
Technical Director and co-founder Lee Tudor commented, “When we started the challenge was to create a reservations system that was reliable enough to power a business, yet open enough to enable working with web sites and commercial partners. Having achieved that, so many clients have different systems in their business that we set out to build the easiest, most efficient way of getting them all to communicate. The beauty of Babel is that the commercial goals of any company can be achieved regardless of what systems are already in place. Gold Partner is a great recognition for all the hard work that has gone into building our business and our service to clients”.
Web Applications has gone from a simple system supplier to a full service technology partner for a growing number of clients, supplying hardware, consultation and integration with other systems such as telephony and accounting. Unlike some other technology suppliers in the travel industry, a recent User Group meeting revealed a high level of client satisfaction with the company.
