Good day for airline shares

It was another quiet day for travel and tourism shares yesterday as London’s main equity markets made modest gains.

The FTSE 100 index added 14.6 points to end the day at 4960.8, while the FTSE 250 gained 17.1 points to end the day at 7244.1.

There was a marked upward trend among airlines: British Airways gained 2.5p for a 271.5p; EasyJet added 1.5p to close at 233.75p; and Ryanair closed at 427.75p, up 3.5p.
