Good news for meeting market

Monday, 23 Nov, 2004 0

A new survey of North American meting planners found 19% expected to book more meetings next year. Said Peter Yesawich, chairman and CEO of Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown & Russell:

“This translates into god news and the reversal of a stagnant meetings market trend that has persisted since the events of Sept. 11.

Highlights of the study by Mr Yesawich’s agency:

• Twenty three percent of corporate meting planners expect to book more off-site meetings in the coming year.

• While more meetings are on the horizon, many planners said the trend was towards shorter sessions.

• Orlando was seen as the No. 1 destination for future corporate meetings (53%), followed by San Diego (48%).
