Good or bad bet?
It’s a somewhat unusual turnaround when a casino sues a group of craps players for…what else…cheating?
The Wynn Las Vegas says a group won $700,000 on seven throws of the dice last summer, according to Onlinepoker.net.
Wynn Las Vegas says a group of craps players who won $700,00 in July cheated the system, and the resort is suing them.
Wynn accused a group of "dice sliding.” That means holding dice in a position with winning numbers face up and pretending to randomly throw them out against the back of the table, according to Online.
Nevada Gaming Control Board enforcement chief Jerry Markling said that "it's not a common form of cheating because it involves a considerable amount of skill and practice."
In the alleged conspiracy to cheat by sliding, defendants left Wynn Las Vegas with "over $700,000" in losses, according to a lawsuit.
“Dice sliding is so obvious that it is easy to stop,” gaming expert Alan Mendelson told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He speculated the gamblers may have had inside help.
