Gorillas in our midst

Planning a trip to central London this weekend? Well, so are 600 gorillas.
Fortunately it shouldn’t be too hair-raising a sight as they’re only pretending. Inside every one of them will be a jogger running for charity.
The Great Gorilla Run, sponsored by operator Explore which has a programme to gorilla-rich Rwanda, takes place this Sunday, with runners passing all the major London landmarks to raise money for the Gorilla Organization, which is dedicated to saving the world’s gorilla population.
TV wildlife enthusiast Bill Oddie will start the race (the Mole quietly ponders here if a mask and suit will be worn by the former Goodie and if it is really necessary) and 21 Explore staff will join the primate throngs, each of whom has raised at least £400
Ah well, it’s all fur a good cause…
