The White Horse Inn

•            The structure is a timber frame.
Energy requirements are supplemented by their very own wind turbine, generating on average 6KW daily.
 
Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Kelling Heath is internationally recognised for its contribution to eco-friendly tourism and is situated within 250 acres of outstandingly beautiful woodland and rare open heathland which provides a huge diversity of flora and fauna. Straw Bale Caravan The Howden family behind the UK’s first straw bale caravan have just completed Yorkshires first straw bale home.
From start to finish, it has taken mother and son team Carol and Sam Atkinson nearly 16 months to complete the super-insulated holiday cottage. Natural materials used in the construction include local wheat straw, local hemp, both local timber and timber from managed forests, sheep’s wool, lime render, clay plaster and natural finishes.
 
Having invested £60,000, the County Hotel, Chelmsford now have a net monthly saving on costs and their co2 emissions overall have dropped by 40% – the results could hardly be more beneficial in costs and environmental impact.
