Guests compensated for interrupted ‘biofoul’ cruise
Viking Cruises said it will compensate guests on the recent voyage disrupted by the ‘biofoul’ marine growth.
Viking Orion guests had to stay on board and missed several port calls as it was denied port access.
The ship finally docked in Sydney on Wednesday.
Biofoul can contain harmful marine microorganisms which can be inhabited by invasive species.
Viking Orion had to be anchored outside Australian waters while the hull was cleaned.
Passengers were stuck onboard the ship for over a week.
It did manage to make a scheduled call in Melbourne.
Viking said all guests will receive a full credit for use on any future cruise.
