Gwyn Hughes stands down as easyCruise boss
EasyCruise CEO Gwyn Hughes is relinquishing his role after the budget firm announced a move of operational base from Monaco to Athens.
The former boss of P&O Cruises will be replaced by a general manager to be based in the Greek capital.
Hughes will continue to offer his experience on new ship build contract negotiations with shipyards which are expected to continue for at least another six months, the company said. He has been with the line for seven months.
EasyCruise will continue to have a marketing company based in the UK headed by Paul Ellerby, formerly with Costa Cruises.
The changes follow the relocation of the ship easyCruiseOne from the French Riviera to the Greek islands for next summer.
Hughes said: “With the decision to base the operation in Athens it was opportune for me to hand over to a Greek management team.”
