Greece and Mediterranean Travel Centre is Australia’s only mainstream tour operator which includes the opportunity for Australian travellers to witness the commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the Autsralian Light Horse charge at Beersheba (Israel) which is widely recognised by Australian military historians as Australia’s most historically significant victory in WWI.
The charge altered the entire history of the Middle East and was the world’s last successful horse cavalry charge. The commemoration in Beersheba on Oct 31, 2007 will include a re-enactment of the charge by Australian and Israeli horsemen.
A special Oct 27 departure of GMTC’s Israel prelude program will include the Beersheba 90th anniversary commemorations. The six day program is priced $1,100 pp twin share (land only).
