Hawaiian Airlines launching longest ever domestic route
Hawaiian Airlines has announced plans to launch the longest ever domestic flight.
Beginning next April, Hawaiian will link Boston with Honolulu, at a distance of 5,095miles.
The flight duration will be about 10 hours.
Hawaiian says Boston is its largest US market without a nonstop service to Hawaii..
The airline will start flying five times a week between Boston Logan and Honolulu on April 5, 2019.
"This route will provide travelers from Hawaii direct access to all that the Commonwealth has to offer, including our nation-leading innovation economy, while also making travel for New England residents to Hawaii easier," said Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker.
Hawaiian says there is sufficient demand as about 60,000 passengers a year flying to Hawaii originate from the Boston area.
The route will be served on Airbus A330 aircraft with 18 First Class lie-flat seats.
