Hays Travel buys North Yorkshire agency
Hays Travel has made its second acquisition in a fortnight, taking over North Yorkshire-based Ripon Travel.
The Yorkshire agency currently has shops in Ripon and Knaresborough but Hays will shut down the Ripon branch due to its recent purchase of the Ryedale Travel premises in the town, which will be rebranded Hays Travel.
All Ripon Travel sales staff will be kept on in the new Hays Travel Ripon branch.
Hays has promised to keep open the branch in Knaresborough and all staff are being retained.
“All of Ripon Travel’s sales staff will be transferring to Hays Travel," said Hays sales general manager Jane Schumm.
"Once again, we are delighted to be able to welcome some fantastic people to the Hays Travel team. The Ripon Travel staff have unbeatable product knowledge and are long haul experts.”
Ripon Travel was founded 25 years ago by Bernard and Linda Bateman, who are retiring following the sale of the business to Hays Travel.
