Helloword acquires Kiwi sports travel specialist
Helloworld Travel has acquired New Zealand sports travel operator Williment Travel Group.
The purchase of Williment Travel is a strategic step to diversify its offerings, Helloworld said in a note to shareholders.
Williment Travel’s annual total transaction value is over $NZ15 million.
Williment was established by former All Black star Mick Williment back in 1967 and offers a broad range of sport travel packages for rugby tests and sevens tournaments, motor racing, tennis, rugby league, horse racing, cricket, and golf.
"The experience and knowledge our sports travel specialists have gained over almost 50 years gives them an intimate understanding of the elements that make a sporting tour a successful and memorable experience. To now join up with the strength of the Helloworld Travel group will enable the business to broaden our product range," said Adair Cameron, general manager of Williment.
Helloworld CEO Andrew Burnes said: "The Williment team, with their breadth of product and experience across a wide range of sporting codes and in event management, adds a new dimension to our New Zealand business."
