High speed internet for Best Western
High speed internet access is being introduced to all Best Western hotel, motels, apartments and resorts worldwide, effective January 1, 2006.
In 2004, Best Western properties in Australia estimated that almost one third of their guests used a computer / laptop during their stay and this figure is expected to increase substantially.
Best Western Australia Deputy CEO, Michael Kerr commented “Just like pay TV, high speed internet access will become a standard that is expected by guests, especially corporate travelers, and given the technological age we live in, may become just as important as the TV to the guest room.”
“While offering high speed access in city locations will keep us in the game, many of Best Western’s 250 locations in Australia are situated regionally, where high speed internet access is less commonly found. This will give our regional properties a competitive advantage and the ability to offer something their neighbouring hotels probably don’t.”
Many properties located in rural areas will need to use satellite internet to provide high speed access, highlighting the importance of offering this service to guests.
