Hilton cuts energy consumption by 10%
Hilton Hotels claims to have reduced energy consumption by 10% in 2007 in its 80-plus properties in Europe.
The chain said water consumption has fallen by 5%, the equivalent to nearly 75 Olympic sized swimming pools.
“In just two years we are seeing some very real and tangible results across Europe,†said Wolfgang M. Neumann, president Hilton Hotels Europe.
“We made a commitment in January 2006 to think green, take action and responsibility to switch to more environmentally sustainable methods of working – today’s results speak for themselves.
“The latest results show that we are on course to achieve our 2009 target of reducing energy consumption by 15%.â€
