Hilton expands in Mexico
Hilton is to expand in Mexico after signing a joint venture agreement to operate five Garden Inn properties in the country.
The hotel giant already has three properties in Mexico and the extra properties will add 900 rooms to its portfolio.
The hotels will be built in San Luis Potosi, Leon, Queretaro, Mexico City and Peubla. Construction will begin next year, with an opening scheduled for 2004.
Hilton announced the plans after striking a deal with Mexico’s Grupo Hotelero Azteca S.A. de C.V.
Hilton’s current Garden Inn hotels in Mexico are in Monterrey, Cuidad Juarez and Nuevo Laredo.
