Hilton launches sustainable, healthy meetings program
Hilton Worldwide has launched a new MICE program aimed at promoting healthy habits for meeting professionals and offering more sustainable options for events.
Called ‘Meet with Purpose,’ the program was developed based on feedback from customers and Hilton sales teams.
It provides more environmentally sustainable choices for event management which are designed to work in tandem with companies’ corporate responsibility goals.
The initiative has two components; the first is ‘Mindful Eating,’ which inspires meeting planners to ensure minimal food wastage at events and encourage healthy eating options.
This includes establishing central water stations with reusable containers, better portion control, and sourcing local products.
The second component ‘Mindful Meeting’ promotes sustainable solutions to resource usage such as paperless registration and efficient energy use in meeting rooms.
"Today’s meeting attendees seek greater meaning in their event experiences and expect event planners to consider the broader implications of the meeting itself," said Lesley Brasesco, Hilton’s managing director of sales effectiveness for the Americas.
"Meet with Purpose offers meeting professionals a menu of options that make it easy to incorporate sustainable, impactful and healthy choices."
