Hilton streamlines agent commissions
Hilton Hotels Corporation started offering a new “Travel Agency Commission Processing” system.
The chain calls it an “exceptional processing and an online resource for agencies and hotels to track their incoming and outgoing commissions.”
Hilton says the new process also helps in keeping track of future meeting planner commissions as well.
Initially, all Hiltons in the US and Canada will be part of the new service. Hilton says it is exploring ways to implement the system to properties outside of North America.
The new system is user-friendly and has a built-in instruction demo for easy access to commission information. Commission payments and reporting, in 41 payment currencies, are consolidated by agency, which Hilton says decreases the number of commission payments to each agency.
Said Mark Shindala, senior director for distribution services:
“These enhancements are possible due to the Hilton proprietary OnQ Property Management System and a new centralized distribution services technology platform utilized by over 2,400 Hilton hotels.”
Among other advantages: agents will be able to receive weekly commission payments.
