Hilton teams up with Country Garden Hotels Group for China expansion
Hotel giant Hilton has tapped Chinese developer Country Garden Hotels Group to boost its footprint across China.
A strategic alliance sees an initial six hotels owned by Country Garden now operating or in the pipeline as Hilton branded hotelss, with more likelt to follow.
The agreement calls for new builds or conversions moving to DoubleTree by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn brands.
These include DoubleTree by Hilton Hainan Lingshui, DoubleTree by Hilton Guangzhou Zengcheng, and Hilton Zhengzhou Xingyang.
Country Garden Hotels Group has a portfolio of more than 120 hotels either open or in development.
"Country Garden is a widely admired property developer and we are thrilled to be extending our partnership with them. Through this partnership, we have an opportunity to bring Hilton’s signature hospitality to even more locations across the country," said Hilton CEO Christopher J. Nassetta.
Hilton itself has a large portfolio in China numbering 470 hotels in operation or in the development pipeline.
