Home working travel agency Holiday Experts plans a major recruitment drive to triple staff numbers from 30 to 90 in two years.

The announcement came as staff met in Manchester this for the first time since becoming a division of the Vertical Group in the summer.

CEO Peter Healey said: “The inclusion of Holiday Experts into the Vertical Group has allowed us to focus on new media opportunities and roll out a series of new websites that are generating good quality leads, steering us away from traditional home working media channels.

“Our home workers are excellent sales people and an improved conversion level offers an increased return on investment to plough back into the business.”

Healey added: “We have spent the initial period following the acquisition restructuring the business and next month we will be launching a recruitment drive, which will see the number of home workers triple over the next two years.

“Our continued investment will not only allow opportunities for our existing home workers but also offer great opportunities for travel industry professionals who wish to start their own business.

“Our aim is to offer our clients expertise in their chosen destination and become a leading brand in the UK travel arena built on modern marketing methods.”

Holiday Experts managing director Mike Russell confirmed that while the trade in general had faced a very difficult period, average commission earnings of Holiday Experts home workers was the highest in the industry at more than £50,000 for the year 2008/09.

This was an increase of an average of 41% over the previous 12 months as a direct result of using new media channels to generate high quality leads, he claimed.

The acquisition by the Vertical Group added security and stability for the future and will enable home workers to increase sales using leads generated through web-based channels and also using CRM platforms for direct mail campaigns to improve repeat business and build the client database for each individual, offering them the chance to further increase their commission earnings.
