Holiday Extras relaunches Brexit disruption cover
Holiday Extras has relaunched its Brexit disruption cover in case there is no-deal between Britain and the EU by the end of the transition period on December 31.
The cover is available as an add-on to both single-trip and annual multi-trip policies and costs from £17.50.
It covers the client if they have to cancel or curtail their holiday as a result of:
- cancellation of flights between UK and EU airports* cancellation of ferries between UK and EU ports
- cancellation of Eurostar trains between UK and EU
- closure of the Channel Tunnel
If they are already on holiday and their return journey is disrupted in the event of a no-deal Brexit, then cover is also provided in the event of:
- trip disruption
- curtailment
- missed departure
- missed onward connection
- delayed arrival back in the UK
Transport Minister Grant Shapps revealed at the ABTA virtual Travel Convention last week that the UK and EU currently have no deal on the continuation of flights from 1 January 2021.
However, he said there was no need for any new deal on train and road operations, insisting that Channel Tunnel rail services, including Eurostar, will be able to continue under ‘other arrangements’.
