Holiday Store boosts bookings with XML
TravelOptions, the provider of operator solutions, claims its technology has increased one operator’s bookings ten fold.
The Holiday Store, which sells package holidays through lastminute.com, implemented TravelOptions’ XML link in February last year. Since then, TravelOptions says bookings have increased ten-fold.
TravelOptions sales and marketing director, Tim Argent (pictured) told TravelMole: “Our clients have not been slow to take up XML. It used to be a price issue, but our solution is much cheaper – as much as ten times less than our competitors figures.”
Mr Argent told TravelMole that TravelOptions would be making announcements about new tour operator clients imminently.
The XML solution bypasses Viewdata, which according to TravelOptions saves time by automating the process of supplying availability and taking bookings, and saves money by avoiding networking costs for online searches when no booking is made.
