Holidaymaker dies in Bahamas tour boat explosion
One American has been confirmed dead and several more are injured after a tour boat explosion off Exuma, Bahamas.
Four Americans with serious injuries were airlifted to Florida by the US Coast Guard but one female tourist had already died.
The boat was carrying 10 tourists and two Bahamians.
Images show the small 40-feet chartered boat destroyed after the resulting fire.
A ‘complete and thorough investigation’ has been called for by Bahamas Leader of the Opposition Philip Davis.
"This is a sad day for Exuma and a sad day for our American friends," said local MP Chester Cooper.
The cause of the explosion is being probed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force
No reason has been disclosed yet but it has the hallmarks of a likely engine fuel leak.
