Holidaymakers quit Keys in as tropical storm hits
Tourists have been fleeing the Florida Keys as tropical storm Fay hit the destination.
Winds gusting up to 60 mph knocked out somepower lines while heavy rain flooded roads.
Fay has already claimed many lives in the Caribbean and passed over Key West yesterday.
Around 25,000 visitors left before the storm hit. Although not at hurricane strength, there were warnings that Fay could build in strength before hitting the west coast of Florida later today (Tuesday).
Airlines have put contingency measures in place and warned of possible disruption due to the escalating winds and bad weather.
