HolidayPirates reports booking surge
HolidayPirates saw the biggest booking surge in two years during the final week of January.
The multi-market portal also said the UK is second only to Germany in terms of traffic and bookings so far this year.
The recent easing of restrictions has driven a wave of travel confidence that’s reflected in the rising booking curve.
Currently, the strongest booking demand is for a mix of last-minute trips for the February half-term and summer holidays.
Traditional favourites such as the Canary Islands, Greek Islands, the Balearics, US and Turkey are top for summer getaways, but the highest-trending deals on the platform in the last week of January were luxury breaks in Sorrento, Zante, Mauritius and the Bahamas.
Phil Salcedo, Head of Market for UK and North America at HolidayPirates, said: "We’re seeing very strong sales on packaged European beach breaks, particularly for traditional favourites across the Balearic and Canary Islands, as well as for Greece."
