Hollywood, Bollywood and Aussiewood – SouthAfricawood?

Monday, 30 Mar, 2007 0

Another strong area for investment opportunity in South Africa, which was discussed in yesterday’s Indaba is the film industry, with  Hollywood, Bollywood and Aussiewood (such as it is!) all going to South Africa.

Keith Stevenson, [Pictured right at left with Yunus Hoosne] an independent Australian film producer from ‘Thought Films SA’ gave a ‘from-the-heart’ case study of his time in South Africa, with South African Tourism one big ‘super advocate’ in Mr Stevenson and they could do far worse than trying to work out how to bottle and deliver him to Aussie businesses!

As Keith said, “Statistics don’t tell the real story”, adding that he has only ever found dignity and opportunity in South Africa, and he made an interesting observation regarding the image of South Africa.

He said. “The media love to go for the negative stories, particularly so when it concerns South Africa, the film industry in South Africa could be one of its best assets – by simply telling the good news!”
