Home workers help push Travel Counsellors sales up 30%
Home working travel agents have helped raise overall sales at Travel Counsellors for the first three weeks of December through the £5 million mark.
Overall, the independent company increased sales by 30% during the period compared to the same time last year from £4,077,286 to £5,320,295.
The firm’s 560 Personal Travel Counsellors – who form the majority of its business – saw sales rise by 44% in the December 1-20 period to £4,528,952 from £3,141,404.
More than 40 of the company’s consultants have had their best ever month this December – traditionally the quietest month of the year.
These include Keith Bickle based in Cambridgeshire who booked a choir on a trip to Lima, a booking worth £21,000.
Jessica Taylor, from Ashford in Kent booked a luxury honeymoon to the Seychelles worth £33,500.
Lesley Allwright, based in Sittingbourne, booked a month-long business class trip to Fiji, Australia and Singapore worth £28,000.
Managing director Steve Byrne said: “We are naturally pleased about our sales figures for the first three weeks of December. But what is so great about our model is that if we are doing well, it also means that our consultants are earning more too.
“Our agents are earning an average 7% more than they were this time last year which is great news for them but also very well deserved as it is down to the hard work and effort they put in giving their customers the very best personal service.”
