Hoseasons claims Jubilee holiday bookings are up
Hoseasons claims bookings are up 22% for half term as Brits take advantage of the extra Jubilee bank holiday.
The UK self-catering operator says its Go-Active lodge breaks are up 49% and sales through travel agents are up 28% on the same time last year.
"Despite reports to the contrary we’ve seen strong demand right across the UK for breaks over the Jubilee weekend since Easter," said Pali Badwal, vice president of Lodges and Parks.
"This is undoubtedly a combination of the extra day off and the chance to celebrate a landmark event.
"Specifically we have seen even stronger growth in our Go-Active lodge breaks, where demand has been up by 49%. This supports a growing trend amongst holidaymakers who are looking for interesting, activity-based, UK holidays for families.
"It seems whether consumers are booking through an agent, or directly, domestic breaks are ‘the’ way to celebrate the Jubilee."
