Savings are in bloom for cherry blossom time

Travelers wanting to visit the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC, through April 17 can book the trip 14 days in advance to save 25% via Amtrak. For those not planning to attend the festival, there are other reduced fares such as from New York for $49 or from Baltimore from $11.

Resorts throughout the Riviera Nayarit, Mexico, are offering various discounts and special offers, in some cases starting in April or stretching well into autumn, The Hotel CINCO, for example, is offering an “Endless Summer Package” that includes a three-night stay in a deluxe oceanfront suite, plus a basket of seasonal fruit, full breakfast each morning, two 60-minute massages and use of two standup paddle boards. The package is priced at $1750 per room based on double occupancy…Travel Leaders is currently running a “Book early and save with Royal Caribbean Cruises” promotion with prices starting at $65 per night for inside staterooms. Those who book a balcony or above starting at $149 a night receive a complimentary dinner for two plus $100 free onboard credit…Nonstop routes to/from 69 domestic cities are on sale with Frontier. The sale is valid through midnight on next Thursday, while travel is for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays through June 13. Sale travel is not permitted on May 29, and tickets must be booked at least seven days in advance. A sample round-trip fare from Denver and Provo is $118, while it’s $136 from Kansas City to Houston…Members of the Hertz Gold Plus program through May 31 can earn double points and a $15 discount on a two-day weekend rental or double points and a $20 discount on a weekly rental…Anyone signing up for a US Airways Club annual membership before today receives two extra membership months plus 1,500 elite-qualifying miles… Aruba, Belize, Bermuda, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, and many other sunny locales are discounted by Alaska, American, Delta, and AirTran. Returning is optional as one-way flights are available. Several Caribbean islands, including Aruba, the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and St. Croix are on sale with American, but only through April 10. Sale travel should take place from April 17 through June 14. A two-night minimum stay is required and the maximum stay permitted is 30 days. A sample round-trip flight from Miami to San Juan, Puerto Rico is $196.
