Hotel fire at Turkiye ski resort kills dozens
A hotel fire in a popular Turkiye ski resort has left dozens dead.
The fire broke out T night in the restaurant of a hotel in Kartalkaya, Bolu province.
Authorities say at least 66 people are dead.
More than 50 others were injured.
The government said four people including the owner of the hotel were detained and are being questioned.
The chief public prosecutor’s office launched an investigation and the cause of the blaze remains unknown.
Bolu Governor Abdulaziz Aydin said the fire started about 3:30 am in the 11-storey hotel and it took several hours for fire crews to put it out.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the whole country will observe a day of national mourning today.
