Hotel haggle site says business is booming

SYDNEY – Ready to haggle for a good room rate? Want to save dollars in dire times?

Flexible rate accommodation site Ubid4rooms.com says it can help by pointing the way to some great deals – if you’re prepared to haggle.

Ubid4rooms.com, has extended its booking window from 14 to 28 days, allowing the corporate and groups market to make offers on multiple rooms at once.

“What Ubid4rooms.com does is make bargaining with hotels so much easier, less embarrassing and more successful,” said Ubid4rooms.com founder, Gary Berman.

“The corporate market loves making deals and now they can negotiate via our sites with a growing number of properties keen to accept offers for rooms rather than leave the rooms empty.”

The number of hotels inviting confidential offers on room rates via Ubid4rooms.com has grown to more than 600.

Hotels now on www.ubid4rooms.com which invite private room offers include top-shelf properties such as Palazzo Versace, Q1 and Watermark on the Gold Coast, Meriton World Tower and The Grace Hotel in Sydney.

“With more than 100,000 hotel rooms around Australia now empty every night, innovative properties are super keen to put bums in beds via the controlled discounts we facilitate, while the corporate market is now seeking the lowest possible deals more aggressively than ever which is why traffic on Ubid4rooms.com has swelled in recent months,” Berman said.

He said the expansion of the booking window from 14 to 28 days and a new system that allows businesses, groups and MICE professionals to bid for multiple rooms at once would help the corporate market shave big dollars off their accommodation costs.

Unlike ebay-type auctions, Ubid4rooms.com allows bidders to make their own offers direct with hotels for rooms at rates much lower than advertised discounts and lower than most other online rates.
