Hotel rates rising
What can travel managers expect from US hotel rates next year? A simple answer: higher prices.
But not that much higher, increases of only 1 to 3.6%, according to results from a survey by UBS Global Equity Research.
“Travel managers surveyed indicated that they expect their hotel spending to rise in 2005,” said William Truelove, UBS lodging industry analyst. He added:
“Yet, they expect the percentage of growth, which increased significantly in 2004, compared with the prior year, to moderate in 2005.”
Are travelers’ happy with their hotels?
Eleven percent of travel managers reported their travelers were more satisfied with hotels’ quality and service than in 2003, Mr Truelove said.
