Hotel, Resort & Spa Update
Caribbean’s latest spa to open in late spring
A new luxury spa is set to open in St Lucia in July 2008. The spa is being built as part of Cap Maison, a 50 room 5-star resort with accommodation across 22 privately owned villas on the island’s exclusive Cap Estate.
The new spa will be known as Spa Maison and will have three treatment rooms, one double and two single rooms with natural lighting and outdoor showers. There will also be a manicure and pedicure suite and hair salon, a relaxation verandah for post treatment relaxation and refreshment plus a St Lucian herbal garden to provide natural products for the spa’s range of herbal treatments.
Renowned French company Sothy’s will be providing the spa’s main treatment products and six full time therapists will be employed. Visiting therapists will provide shiatsu and reflexology while classes in tai chi, yoga and pilates will be available as demand arises. A well-equipped gym will also be available for guest use where personal trainers will be on hand to provide individual exercise routines and advice.
Guests staying at the hotel will be offered a complementary 30-minute welcome massage in the spa and treatments will also be available in the privacy of their own suites or on the cliff edge, overlooking the resort’s secluded beach.
Helen Gobat, Design and Product Manager of Cap Maison, announcing preliminary details of Maison Spa, commented: “The spa has been designed to be warm and embracing, soft and serene and in no way clinical. It will have draped ceilings and copper lighting and will definitely provide a sensual atmosphere.”
The five star Cap Maison resort is being built atop an ocean bluff above a secluded sandy beach. It will offer magical views over to historic Pigeon Island and across to neighbouring Martinique. Its elevated setting affords panoramic views across land and sea, by day it is breathtaking and after dark the unobstructed views of the night sky are seriously romantic.
