Airbnb unveils new ‘Live There’ campaign

Vacation home sharing platform Airbnb has launched a new ad campaign, with the goal of guiding customers toward more personalized travel experiences.

The global ‘Live There’ campaign will be its largest yet and will feature digital, print and TV ad slots in the US and overseas.

The campaign’s aim is to help customers go beyond the usual tourist traps and experience destinations guided by its local experts – Airbnb hosts.

"The number one reason people chose to travel on Airbnb is they want to live like a local. They don’t want to be tourists stuck in long lines, fighting with the crowds to see the same thing as everyone else," said Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky.

"Our hosts offer more than just generic hospitality — they welcome travelers from around the world into their communities. Today is the start of an exciting journey to help people not just go somewhere, but truly live there," he said.

Airbnb is also rolling out a new search function on its updated app which personalizes results based on customers’ previous travel history.

"When looking for homes, each traveler will see different results based on their unique preferences. The new app starts a conversation with travelers about their ideal trip," Airbnb said in a statement.
