HotelPlanner.com acquires Meetings.com
Broadening its appeal to the corporate meetings and incentives market, HotelPlanner.com has acquired Meetings.com.
HotelPlanner.com says its bookings in the corporate group market have doubled over the past year. It now works with 50,000 hotels around the world, processing 2,000 groups a day.
Meetings.com brings the company meeting and event venues outside of hotels; its audience includes catering managers and event venue owners.
Meetings.com was owned and operated by The Bellwether Group, which was acquired by Conferon in 2002.
HotelPlanner.com helps clients find meetings and events sites through a combination of technology and a highly experienced staff of professional meeting planners and corporate travel specialists, the company says, and provides customized hotel and meetings travel programs for corporations and associations.
In addition to corporations and government agencies, its clients include the National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Football League (NFL), the National Hockey League (NHL), and the Professional Bull Riders (PBR).
