How much am I bid for this nose-cone?
Concorde enthusiasts will get the chance to snap up parts of the legendary jet at a special Air France auction to be held next month.
Some 200 lots will be on sale at the auction, which will be held at Christie’s in Paris on 15 November. Perhaps the most sought-after item will be the aircraft’s famous and distinctive nose cone, which has a guide price of between 10,000 and 15,000 euros.
But those with less cash to spare can still take part because there are no reserve prices and some items are thought likely to sell for as little as 20 euros. There is also expected to be serious interest in the Olympus 593 engines that power Concorde.
Meanwhile, British Airways is also stepping up its efforts to sell mementoes of the famous jet. The carrier is to sell 500 copies each of three limited-edition prints of Concorde. The prints, which will all be signed by the chief Concorde pilot Mike Bannister, can be viewed online at http://www.ba-concordecollection.com.
