Hull emerges from the Deep
Hull has recently emerged as one of the fastest growing short break destinations in the United Kingdom. Utilising the rich maritime heritage that spans across many centuries, the extensive range of museums coupled with more recent investments such as the award winning submarium – The Deep, Hull has become an enjoyable and exciting place to visit.
With the investments made in developing the various attractions and events to draw visitors to the city, it soon became apparent that to do them justice and ensure that the welcome received was also top quality, a first class destination management system was required. To handle the increasing numbers of enquiries and bookings the forward thinking Tourism Marketing Department at Hull City Council decided to look for such a system and decided, as have the majority of it’s Yorkshire neighbours, to partner with OmniTourism UK.
Barbara Macniven, Hull’s Tourism Marketing Officer was delighted with the new alliance ‘We believe this is the next important stage in ensuring that Hull becomes and remains one of the UK’s top destinations. The wealth of history we have here coupled with our waterfront location plus the enormous amount of investment coming in to the city means we have a quality experience on offer.
OmniTourism’s tools and services are, we beleive second to none. They will help us market our City, service our visitors and make certain that we do the best job possible in maximising the return on investment for our stakeholders. We have seen what they are capable of in other parts of Yorkshire and want them to repeat the success here.’
OmniTourism’s Graham McKenzie was equally delighted at the news. ‘We are thrilled to be involved with such a rapidly emerging destination as Hull. Our Yorkshire base of clients continues to grow and this can only be good news for us, and for our clients, as the opportunities for joint marketing, development and consultation increase.’
