Humble Days Inn music to the ears of rock stars

Sunday, 29 Nov, 2010 0

Here’s an unlikely place to find rock stars: the Days Inn Chicago.

“If you have your heart set on a potential star sighting in the Windy City, consider staying (here). The Lincoln Park/Lakeview hotel has been a home away from home for a number of musicians, many of whom came in as unknowns and shortly thereafter went on to become stars,” said a press release.

Why do they choose it?

“Both bands and music makers choose Days Inn Chicago because it is a quiet place, close to a number of venues,” says the release.

Rock group favorites like the Smashing Pumpkins and Red Hot Chili Peppers, as well as pop princesses like Alanis Morrissette and Nelly Furtado have all stayed here. So has Sheryl Crowe, who rollerbladed through the front lobby (which was and still is frowned upon). Rumor has it Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love conceived their child there.

The Days Inn Chicago hits the high notes with luxury features like upgraded duvet bedding and a deluxe continental breakfast included with each room.

“We take pride in our great customer service and make sure each of our guests receive attention at a personal level” said general manager Stefanie Hrejsa. “Musicians have enjoyed staying with us since we offer such a high quality stay in a low-key atmosphere.”

So many rock stars have stayed here that it’s often called Rock and Roll Days Inn.
