Hundreds flock to Melbourne store for one-point Virgin flights
Australia’s first ever Virgin Velocity Frequent Flyer Rewards store opened in Melbourne.
Located in South Yarra, it is effectively a pop-up store, open for a maximum 24 hours only.
It is part of Virgin’s 1 Point Rewards campaign.
Large crowds flocked to the store at the weekend to snap up Virgin flights and consumer goods for just one Velocity point.
The store had more than a thousand ‘1 Point bargains.’
Hundreds had redeemed their one point for a flight or product within the first few hours.
As well as Virgin flights, there were goods like Apple products, Dyson hair dryers, and vacuum cleaners up for grabs.
“We are laser focused on getting Australians to their loyalty rewards faster,” Velocity Frequent Flyer CEO, Nick Rohrlach said.
1-Velocity Point flights include departures to the Gold Coast, Cairns and Hobart.
