Hyatt Centric brand goes international

Monday, 26 Jan, 2016 0

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the first international expansion of the Hyatt Centric bran with new hotels coming to South America and Asia.

The first international Hyatt Centric hotel is slated to open in mid-2016 in Montevideo, Uruguay followed by Hyatt Centric Ginza Tokyo in 2018.

The Montevideo property will feature 178 guestrooms, more than 1,100 square feet of meeting space, a signature restaurant and a rooftop executive lounge.

The Hyatt Centric Ginza Tokyo will be the first new-build Hyatt Centric in Asia Pacific with 164 rooms.

"The new and upcoming Hyatt Centric properties signal momentum for the brand’s global expansion plans and our foray into the increasingly popular upper upscale lifestyle segment," said Steve Haggerty, Hyatt’s global head of capital strategy, franchising and select service.

Hyatt also announced the addition of three more US locations to the Centric portfolio.

Existing Hyatt managed properties Hyatt The Pike Long Beach, Hyatt Escala Lodge at Park City and Hyatt Market Street, The Woodlands, Texas will convert to the Centric brand.

The three hotels were chosen for their sought-after locations and individual design elements, Hyatt said.

They join Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago and Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami, which opened in 2015.
