Icelandair to launch Manchester service
Icelandair is to launch a twice-weekly service from Manchester to Reykjavik in spring next year.
The introduction of the new route, beginning on April 7, follows an increase in bookings away from the London area.
Icelandair general manager UK and Ireland Stephen Brown said: “We have realised we need an additional gateway from the UK to compliment the existing services from Heathrow and Glasgow.
“We have seen a gap in the market and felt Manchester has enormous potential for additional traffic in both directions.”
The carrier, which will have 21 weekly flights from the UK and Iceland, will operate a two-class 189-seat Boeing 757-200 aircraft on the Manchester route.
