IHG bringing Holiday Inn Express brand to Krabi
Intercontinental Hotels Group plans to debut its Holiday Inn Express brand in the Thai holiday hotspot of Krabi.
Slated for a 2017 opening, the 222-room hotel will be sited near the popular Ao Nang Beach in Krabi and will feature a fitness centre, signature Great Room for dining and socialising, and self-service business centre.
The hotel is owned by U&N Hospitality Company, which also worked with IHG to bring the nearby Holiday Inn Resort to the Krabi market.
"It is a great time to be bringing the Holiday Inn Express brand into Krabi and we are delighted to be working with U&N Hospitality Company Limited to open the new Holiday Inn Express Krabi Ao Nang Beach in a great location," said Leanne Harwood, IHG’s vice president, operations, South East Asia.
IHG currently operates four Holiday Inn Express hotels in Thailand.
Thailand is the company’s biggest market in South East Asia with 18 hotels and resorts open across five IHG brands, including the landmark InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and the recently launched Hotel Indigo Bangkok.
There are a further 12 hotels in the development pipeline due to open in Thailand within the next five years.
