Inaugural Flight Celebrations
Celebrations got underway at Stansted Airport on Sunday (23 May) to mark the launch of Corsican Places’ new flight service to Calvi, North West Corsica with Titan Airways. BAA Stansted’s Airline, Route and Marketing Manager Paul Haynes was on hand to congratulate the tour operator’s Managing Director Chris Rowles and Marketing Director David Williams on its new service, which is the UK’s only direct charter.
Corsican Places marked the day by giving away a £250 prize voucher to its first customers checking-in. The lucky winners, Mr & Mrs Cunnington who booked their holiday through D & G Travel Centre, Henley-on-Thames were presented with the prize and, to get their holiday off to an even better start, the couple also received a £50 airport-shopping voucher.
Arriving passengers were treated to a breakfast buffet; comprising specialty pastries, Corsican delicacies and refreshments following a swift check-in for the 10.00 am departure on board the Boeing 737-300 aircraft. Also boarding the flight was Corsican Places managing director, Mr Chris Rowles who commented:
“We are delighted to be able to offer this flight route which ties in well with our accommodation stronghold in La Balagne region. Our emphasis is on providing a high quality product to match our customer requirements and our charter flight should compare favourably with ‘no-frills’ for a number of reasons, including flight times, seat pitch, luggage allowance and complimentary in-flight meals.”
On arrival at Calvi Airport a further reception co-hosted by Corsican Places and the Chamber of Commerce & Industry for Haute Corse took place, attended by local dignitaries, media and Corsican Places’ property owners and suppliers.
Corsican Places is offering convenient Sunday morning departures through to September 26th (2010). This season a 7-night holiday costs from £369 per person, based on self catering accommodation at Apartment Georges; a two bedroom apartment located in the heart of Calvi Citadel. This price is based on four sharing and includes return Stansted – Calvi flights.
