Indonesia confirms Bali expressway
Indonesia has confirmed that it will build a 11.5 km toll road in Bali connecting the international airport to the tourist enclave of Nusa Dua
“The toll road will not curve but cut from the airport to Benoa,†said a government official.
The road has been dubbed the Mangrove Express because it will be built through eco-sensitive mangrove swamps.
Four state-owned enterprises will manage the construction of the toll road – work is scheduled to begin this month and is targeted for completion by May 2013.
It is hoped the toll road will be finished before the APEC Summit in Bali in 2013.
