Indonesia’s Go-Jek adds in-app hotel bookings
Indonesian ride hailing app Go-Jek has launched Go-Travel, offering in-app bookings through a partnership with local online travel platform Tiket.com.
Go-Jek quietly launched the platform which initially offers only hotel bookings in selected markets.
Tiket.com’s full inventory is not available yet, which includes flight and train bookings, and Go-Jek’s digital payment service Go-Pay hasn’t been integrated yet for hotel booking payments, although that will likely be added in the near future.
Tiket.com is backed by an affiliate of Blibli.com, a major e-commerce platform that invests in Go-Jek.
It marks acceleration in Go-Jek’s so-called ‘super app’ ambitions to be an end-to-end supplier across travel, and ramps up its battle for Southeast Asia dominance with rival Grab.
Grab recently announced similar partnerships with Booking, com and Agoda.
