Indonesia’s Riau province prepping for ‘safe travel corridor’ with Singapore
Plans are moving forward for a ‘safe travel bubble’ between Singaporre and tourism hubs in Indonesia’s Riau islands. It would allow Singaporeans to visit the resort zone of Nongsa on Batam Island and Lagoi on Bintan.
Preparations are underway for the travel corridor to begin in a month’s time. Tourism workers in the two areas are being called for vaccinations now with a target of immunising 30,000 before the travel corridor opens. Both destinations have direct fast ferry links with Singapore.
Tourists will also be required to download an app so movements can be tracked within Indonesia.
